Will an attack on a nuclear power plant be considered nuclear? Expert explains the position chosen by NATO and the USA.

Ukraine and Russia: Tension in Relationships
Mykhailo Gonchar, President of the Global Strategies Center 'Strategy XXI', expressed the opinion that Russian actions, threats of nuclear strikes, and the lack of containment concepts for the Russian Federation have confused NATO countries. According to him, Western politicians are helping Russia intimidate its opponents.
Experts and military personnel from the USA, European countries, and Ukraine considered a similar model situation, but with catastrophic consequences for people and the environment, during a wargame at the Center for Nuclear Nonproliferation in Arlington.
Participants in the military game planned a response to Russian strikes on nuclear power plants in Khmelnytskyi region and in Poland. As a result of the dispute, discussions had to be held about the possibility of a response, with the USA unable to find a way to interact in such a case.
Update of Russia's Nuclear Doctrine
Vladimir Putin updated Russia's nuclear doctrine, adding points about the possible use of nuclear weapons in case of aggression against the country or Belarus. This led to discussions and uncertainty in relations between countries.
At a press conference, the German Defense Minister explained that changes in Russia's nuclear doctrine will not alter NATO and Europe's position. At the same Time, he emphasized that Germany will continue its path in the direction it considers correct.
