Soldiers are quickly leaving the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom despite salary increases
The number of military personnel in the UK is rapidly declining, despite rising salaries, reports The Telegraph.
In the past year, just over 12,000 recruits have joined the Armed Forces, but losses amount to 15,119 people, of which more than half left voluntarily. These cases are classified as 'voluntary attrition'.
Even after a 6% salary increase, many soldiers are still leaving service. The Ministry of Defence has implemented these measures to stop the recruitment crisis, but it seems to be insufficient.
It is worth noting that a survey conducted within the Armed Forces showed that only 32% of military personnel are satisfied with their basic salary, which is the lowest figure in history. The recruitment crisis has been affecting the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom for the past few years.
We remind you that according to data from the U.S. Department of Defense, the naval forces of the People's Liberation Army of China are the largest in the world. Ukraine ranks 18th in the global ranking of the strongest armies for 2024.
