A Hole the Size of America: WSJ Assessed the Damage from Trump's 'Blow' to Ukraine.

Ukraine is facing the consequences of the cessation of American weaponry and intelligence supplies as the Russian army continues its advance in the northeast of the country. In particular, American M777 howitzers have been effective in countering Russian artillery, but these supplies have now been halted. Russian armed forces are again actively moving forward, but Ukraine is losing the ability to deliver precise strikes on remote targets due to a lack of new weapons and intelligence.
This may lead to a progressive deterioration of the situation as American ammunition in Ukraine runs low, and weapon systems cannot be repaired or replaced.
'These consequences will have a cascading effect and will intensify,' noted one American official.
Ukraine relies on supplies of American weapons, including critical artillery shells and missile defense systems, as well as intelligence that provides vital information for conducting strikes. The absence of these resources will limit Ukraine's capacity for effective defense and striking Russian forces.
Ukraine is also facing challenges in ensuring spare parts for military equipment, such as M777 howitzers and self-propelled artillery units that require repair or replacement. A shortage of spare parts and ammunition could lead to many infantry fighting vehicles being taken out of service.
Despite all the challenges, Ukraine will continue its fight against the Russian advance and is seeking its own innovations in defense. The country is producing its own drones and using the Starlink satellite internet service to ensure communication between troops and commanders.
Ukraine also depends on arms supplies from the US and Europe, but the cessation of these supplies could undermine its ability to defend itself and deliver strikes.
International analysts and officials acknowledge that Ukraine remains an important factor in the conflict with Russia, but they warn of a deterioration of the situation if the necessary support is not provided by the US and other countries.
