The EU will discuss the sending of military instructors to Ukraine for the first time - Media.


The German publication Welt reports on the discussion of the issue of sending military instructors to Ukraine.
The meeting of the EU Political and Security Committee, at which EU representatives will discuss this issue, will take place on August 27.
Ukraine has already been visited by informal debates on this topic in July.
Poland, France, Denmark, Sweden, and the Baltic countries support sending military instructors to Ukraine.
Austria, Hungary, Germany, Malta, and Slovenia, which fear an escalation of the conflict, are opposed.
Some arguments in favor of sending instructors to Ukraine include that transporting soldiers for training to Europe and back takes a lot of Time, and the training standards in Europe and actually in Ukraine differ.
The reasons against include fears of an unpredictable reaction from Russia and possible hybrid actions in Europe.
The final decision on this issue will be made in November.
