Forbes reported on the first air victories of F-16 in Ukraine.


The first F-16 arrived in Ukraine achieved its first air victory. It participated in repelling a massive Russian attack and shot down enemy targets. This was reported by Forbes magazine.
Three weeks after the arrival of the first F-16 aircraft in Ukraine, Russian targets were shot down.

F-16 aircraft were spotted flying with air-to-air weapons guided by infrared AIM-9 and radar-guided AIM-120. It is noted that they do not have air-to-ground weapons, although they are compatible with Ukrainian anti-radiation missiles and GPS-guided bombs.
Ukraine arms its F-16s with AIM-120B missiles, which have a range of 64 km. For closer combat, they use AIM-9L/Ms, which can hit targets several miles away.
The first sorties of Ukrainian F-16s were directed against Russian cruise missiles. With the arrival of more aircraft, F-16s will be able to counter targets that can shoot back, such as Russian fighters and air defense batteries.
The US reprogrammed electronic radio emission warfare on F-16 fighters transferred to Ukraine from Belgium, Denmark, Norway, and the Netherlands.
President Zelensky reported that Ukraine used F-16s to shoot down missiles during the latest massive attack from Russia.
The first F-16 fighters that arrived in Ukraine have also been presented.
Limit on the number of F-16 aircraft
According to The New York Times, by 2024, Ukraine will be able to have no more than ten F-16 aircraft on the battlefield.
Ukrainian F-16s are equipped with equipment to counter missile attacks from Russia.
