US presidential candidate Kamala Harris stated that Ukraine must achieve victory in the war with Russia.
She stated this during televised debates with Republican Donald Trump.
"He (Trump - ed.) will surrender after he wins the election. I met with Zelensky a few days before Russia invaded Ukraine. I shared with him American intelligence data on how he could protect himself. A few days later, I went to the eastern flank of NATO to Poland and Romania. We united 50 countries to support Ukraine. Thanks to air defense, ammunition, artillery, Javelins, Abrams tanks that we provided, Ukraine has the ability to defend itself. We understand the importance of NATO and what we have done to maintain the ability of Ukrainians to fight for independence. Otherwise, Putin would be sitting in Kyiv and looking at the rest of Europe, starting with Poland," Harris stated.
Harris emphasized that the US must remain the leading state that protects international rights and rules.
