The general suspect in the case of the defense of Kharkiv region will remain in custody for another month.

The former commander of the Operational Tactical Group 'Kharkiv', Yuriy Halushkin, will remain in detention until April 22. The court rejected the request for his release on bail. This information was reported by the resource 'Glavkom' citing 'Espresso'.
The Kyiv Appeals Court also previously refused to change the preventive measure for Halushkin. He remains in the pretrial detention center until March 20. Halushkin is accused of negligence during the defense of the Kharkiv region in the spring of 2024.
In January of this year, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service arrested several former commanders suspected of negligence that allowed Russian occupiers to capture part of the Kharkiv region's territory in May 2024. Among those arrested were Brigadier General Yuriy Halushkin, Lieutenant General Artur Gorbenko, and Colonel Ilya Lapin.
Halushkin was arrested for 60 days with the possibility of posting a bail of 5 million hryvnias. However, after posting bail, he was again detained by the State Bureau of Investigation on a new suspicion.
The hearing regarding the change of the preventive measure for Halushkin was postponed to April 4, although it was previously scheduled for March 13.
