The Cabinet proposes to ban creditors from collecting debts from war veterans.

The Consumer Credit Law is Changing
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a draft law that amends the Consumer Credit Law. According to these changes, creditors and collection companies will no longer be able to contact borrowers if they belong to protected categories or if their relatives were notified during martial law.
The proposal also aims to expand the list of protected categories of people by adding military personnel from special law enforcement agencies, war veterans, individuals detained due to armed aggression against Ukraine and their families, as well as family members of individuals who went missing under special circumstances.
The draft law also defines the list of documents that confirm the belonging to these protected categories and specifies that the Ministry of Veterans Affairs will be responsible for confirming the status of war veterans for creditors.
Additionally, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Health have launched an experimental project that expands the list of free medical services for combat participants. This project includes additional examinations and treatments, rehabilitation after injuries and illnesses, treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, and psychological support.
Information about the participation of military personnel in combat actions will be recorded in the Unified State Register of War Veterans within five days.
