German Minister of Economy Robert Habeck is ready to supply Ukraine with German Taurus cruise missiles
German Minister of Economy and Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck stated that he would agree to supply Ukraine with German Taurus cruise missiles if he led the government.
He expressed this opinion in an interview with the ARD television channel, reports Die Zeit.
When asked about Olaf Scholz's decision regarding the supply of Taurus to Kyiv, Habeck replied:
'Yes, the answer to this question is yes.'
The Minister of Economy also added that he made decisions about arms supplies as a federal minister of economy, and these were the hardest decisions.
'It was part of my job, and these were very difficult decisions,' he noted.
Robert Habeck will head the electoral list of 'Alliance 90'/Greens in the snap elections to the Bundestag, which will take place on February 23. His candidacy was supported by 96.5% of the participants of the party's federal congress in Wiesbaden on Sunday, November 17, reports 'Deutsche Welle'.
In his speech before the vote, 55-year-old Habeck stated that he has the experience and desire to take on a responsible position. He emphasized the responsibility to the people of Germany and the challenges associated with climate change and populism.
