The number of refugees in Germany has reached a record high.

Increase in the number of refugees in Germany
Over the past year, the number of refugees in Germany has increased by 124,000 people, reaching 3.5 million. According to data published on the Glavcom portal and referencing Deutsche Welle, one in three refugees who entered the country came from Ukraine.
According to the report, approximately 1.2 million people with refugee status in Germany are Ukrainians. Of these, about 710,000 have been recognized as refugees under the Geneva Convention on Refugees, and 43,000 are individuals entitled to asylum. A ban on expulsion is in place for 197,000 people, including approximately 130,000 from Afghanistan.
According to Klara Büynger, last year alone, 124,000 refugees arrived in Germany, of which 108,000 were Ukrainian citizens. Although 200,000 people with asylum should leave the country, the government reports that 178,000 of them are still in Germany under temporary asylum conditions.
The number of refugees in Germany continues to grow, with a significant portion of them being Ukrainians. This reflects the difficult situation in Ukraine, which forces people to seek refuge in other countries. Such significant growth may pose potential problems and challenges for Germany in the future.
