Israeli Knesset passes a law to restrict the activities of UNRWA
The Israeli Knesset has passed a bill which places obstacles in front of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
According to The Time of Israel, the document was supported by 92 legislators, with ten opposing it.
In response to this decision, the Israeli bill emphasized that "over 10% of UNRWA employees in Gaza are linked to terrorism, and schools guarded by this organization constantly incite hatred against Israel and glorify terror."
Moreover, UNRWA was covering for the deployment of Hamas terrorists in Gaza. In February, the Israeli Defense Forces discovered a Hamas data processing center underground beneath the UNRWA headquarters.
Terrorists used schools built under the protection of UNRWA to store weapons and attack Israeli military during operations in Gaza.
The law passed on Monday is one of two documents concerning UNRWA. The other law prohibits Israeli state bodies from any contact with the organization, which will severely limit its activities in Gaza and the West Bank.
