Korea made a 'nuclear' statement amid the war in Ukraine.

Member of the South Korean Parliament Wi Sun-lak called for the creation of nuclear weapons.
According to 'Wave', this was reported by The CHOSUN.
The politician from South Korea expressed the need to have an independent nuclear potential and to hold political discussions on this matter. His opinion was supported by deputy Pak Sun-won, a former director of the intelligence service.
According to the publication, for a long Time, South Korean politicians considered discussions about nuclear weapons a taboo topic, but everything changed due to the war in Ukraine. The reason is that Ukraine once transferred 2,000 nuclear warheads, but when Russia began its aggression and violated the Budapest memorandum, the USA and Great Britain did not fulfill their promises to protect the territorial integrity of the country.
Currently, the US administration has halted aid to Ukraine altogether. All of this has compelled South Korean lawmakers to speak openly about the need to have their own nuclear weapons.
'A hidden nuclear potential means the ability to develop nuclear weapons at any moment without actually creating them. Japan is a good example of this. In 1988, Japan acquired rights for reprocessing and enrichment through a revision of the nuclear agreement between the USA and Japan. Japan obtained over 47 tons of plutonium through reprocessing, allowing it to quickly create nuclear weapons in an emergency. In comparison, South Korea has no right to reprocess, and uranium enrichment is limited,' the article states.
Earlier, the Trump administration stated that it did not oppose South Korea and Japan becoming nuclear states.
It should be noted that France offers to place its nuclear bombers in Germany.
