Kurchyna: AFU storm the women's colony where Russian occupiers are holed up.


Ukrainian troops are attacking the building of a women's colony in Russia's Kursk region. Russian soldiers who have set up firing positions are now in this colony. This is reported by Bild.
During the advance in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian army reached the women's colony where fierce fighting is currently taking place.
In the village of Mala Loknya, 14 km from the Ukrainian border, Russian military have turned women's correctional colony No. 11 into a fortress and are putting up fierce resistance. It is possible that even the colony guards are participating in the defense of the facility, journalists report.
Since 2011, 203 convicted female criminals sentenced to terms ranging from 10 to 20 years of imprisonment have been held in the colony.
Several dozen Russian soldiers defend the colony by building barricades and using watchtowers as firing positions. Large buildings are being used as protection against Ukrainian attacks.
Ukrainian military are shelling the defenders using German-made Marder infantry fighting vehicles and are attacking the guard tower at the entrance to the colony with drones.
Russian military bloggers confirm that Mala Loknya has been almost completely surrounded by Ukrainian units, but Russian Armed Forces soldiers continue to hold the defense. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that all Ukrainian troop attacks have been repelled.
A frame from the colony appeared in a video by the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the AFU.
Recall that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to advance in the Kursk direction, facing resistance from Russian troops. Ukrainian military have achieved successes in several settlements, including Komarivka, Semenivka, Levshynka, and Russian Konopelek, according to geolocation data and an ISW report.
The situation in the Kursk direction remains tense, with active fighting and mutual attacks. The AFU continue to press on Russian positions, demonstrating their determination to liberate the occupied territories.
On the night of July 28, Russia's Kursk region was attacked by drones, leading to explosions and fires in several areas.
