Champions League: Shakhtar and Bologna played their first match in a draw.


The Ukrainian football club «Shakhtar» began its performance in the first round of the Champions League with a 0:0 draw against «Bologna».
At the beginning of the match, «Shakhtar» had a chance to take the lead, receiving a penalty, but could not convert it. Then the Italian team became more active but could not score a goal.
After the break, «Bologna» also could not capitalize on a moment when Giovanni Fabian failed to score from a few meters as the «Shakhtar» goalkeeper saved the situation. The match ended in a 0:0 draw.
This is the first points «Shakhtar» earned in the Champions League. In the next round, the «miners» will play against «Atalanta» on October 2.
Champions League Forecast
The sports analytical company Opta conducted a forecast regarding the favorites of the Champions League 2024/2025. According to the computer model data, «Manchester City» is the main contender for victory this season with a percentage of 25.3%.
However, Opta gives only a 3.9% chance for «Shakhtar» to advance to the playoffs, which is the second-lowest figure among all teams, surpassing only the Slovakian «Slovan» with 1.2%.
In the world of futsal, there was also an important match for the Ukrainian national team. In the second round of the Futsal World Championship, Ukrainian futsal players defeated the Angola team with a score of 7:2.
