Meta and Amazon to roll back 'inclusive' programs ahead of Trump's return.

American tech companies are changing their diversity policies ahead of Trump's possible return to power
According to Reuters, leading U.S. tech companies, such as Meta Platforms and Amazon, are suddenly changing their diversity and inclusion policies in light of Donald Trump's potential return to the White House.
Meta Platforms and Amazon have shut down their DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) programs aimed at supporting diversity in the corporate environment.
Meta has halted training programs and special hiring initiatives aimed at promoting diversity. The company has also changed its leadership, appointing Republicans to key positions.
Additionally, Meta contributed 1 million dollars to Trump's inaugural fund, following Google's similar donation earlier this January.
Meta's Vice President of HR, Janell Gaye, explained the decision, stating that 'the legal and political landscape surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion in the U.S. is changing.'
Amazon also plans to gradually phase out its 'outdated diversity programs' by the end of this year.
The decision made by the tech giants is linked to pressure from conservative groups that criticize DEI diversity programs and threaten companies with lawsuits.
The situation has escalated following accusations from Elon Musk and other Trump supporters regarding the ineffectiveness of DEI response to the fires in Los Angeles, although no effective evidence has been provided to support these claims.
In addition to changes in diversity policy, Meta has also canceled fact-checking in the U.S., prompting further discussions about the role of social media in disseminating information.
