The Ministry of Defence of Finland has launched a new support program for Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defence of Finland is starting a new assistance program for Ukraine, which involves the use of national defense enterprises. According to the decision of the Finnish government, the Ministry of Defence offers financial support to the country's defense industry amounting to 660 million euros.
'This new support program will allow Finnish companies to play a key role in assisting Ukraine. Until now, we have mostly supported Ukraine through transfers from storage, but in the future, the production will largely be ordered from our country's enterprises. With these decisions, we strengthen both Ukraine's ability to achieve fair peace conditions and Finnish business in the security sector, as well as the security of supplies in the long term,' said Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen.
The Ministry of Defence developed the new support program last autumn. It was prepared taking into account the views of the business sector, international partners, and Ukraine. The Logistics Center of the Defence Forces will carry out the procurements. The choices of products will be based on Ukraine's needs, the possibility of transfer, as well as the production and logistics capabilities of companies. Products will be provided as part of future aid packages.
