Drugs in popular gummy candy? Dutch experts have come to a conclusion

In packages of popular Haribo gummy candies, which were recalled in the Netherlands after complaints about feeling unwell, no traces of cannabis were found. The Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI) confirmed that no drugs made it into these candies at any stage of Haribo's production, and their composition does not contain compounds related to cannabis.

Last month, several people complained about feeling unwell after eating Haribo Happy Cola F!ZZ candies, where traces of cannabis were found. At that Time, it was decided to recall a batch of candies in the Netherlands for safety reasons.

The Netherlands is known for its liberal policy on cannabis use, yet in this case, no signs of drugs were found in Haribo products. Thus, the situation with the candies turned out to be just a misunderstanding, rather than a consequence of intentional action.
