There will be no more Orbans: political scientist on the new Austrian government's support for Ukraine.

The Federal Government of Austria will continue to support Ukraine, considering the strict austerity budget. The main point of the new government program is the provision for supporting the stabilization of the European neighborhood, particularly Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia. Special attention will be paid to humanitarian aid to Ukraine and recovery efforts. The Federal Government also condemns Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine and supports efforts to achieve comprehensive peace. Austria is committed to the principle of Ukraine's involvement in negotiations. The new government will not provide weapons to Ukraine or significantly increase humanitarian aid. However, measures may be taken to limit Russian influence, such as complicating the activities of Russian special services in Austria.
According to political scientist Martin Malek, the emergence of a new 'Orban' in Austria on the European political map is ruled out. The new Austrian government plans to support Ukraine, but this will depend on budget constraints. Furthermore, it is reported that relations between Ukraine and Austria will be maintained both at the bilateral level and within the framework of the common policy of the European Union.
