The suspect in treason Shuferych will return to parliamentary work: SBU explained the situation.


The Security Service of Ukraine reported that the performance of parliamentary duties by MP Nestor Shuferych will take place during his stay in the isolation facility. He will have the opportunity to prepare and send written appeals and requests. The SBU press service provided this information to 'Ukrainian Truth', commenting on the decision of the Shevchenkovsky District Court, which allowed Shuferych to engage in parliamentary work.
Shuferych will continue to be held in custody at the SBU pre-trial detention center and will have the general duties of a prisoner. The execution of his parliamentary powers will be carried out within the possibilities in prison. This will include the preparation and sending of written appeals, requests, etc.
The court denied the request to deliver Shuferych to the session of the Verkhovna Rada but allowed him to exercise his parliamentary powers in the isolation facility. This means that Shuferych will not be transferred to the parliament, the SBU press service reported.
Earlier, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko reported that the court allowed Shuferych to engage in parliamentary activities but did not allow him to be physically present at the Rada meeting. Within his stay in the pre-trial detention center, Shuferych will have the right to perform his parliamentary duties.
Shuferych is suspected of treason
The figure of Shuferych and his assistant will be tried for financing Rosgvardiya in occupied Crimea. The ex-MP received a suspicion of treason. According to the investigation, he collaborated with former NSDC Secretary Volodymyr Sivkovych, who carried out tasks for the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
It is also worth noting that the people's deputy of Ukraine of the IX convocation from the OPPZH party Shuferych filed a statement to the SBI because he was not allowed to medical manipulations in the pre-trial detention center for 8 months. He stated this to 'Suspilne'.
