Over 86% of Poles oppose the sending of troops to Ukraine.


The majority of Polish citizens reject the deployment of troops to Ukraine
According to a survey by United Surveys for the publication Wirtualna Polska, 86.5% of residents of Poland are against sending troops to Ukraine.
In particular, 58.5% of respondents categorically reject this decision, while another 28% answered that they are 'mostly no'.
Only 8.4% responded positively, with 0.8% saying 'definitely yes', and 7.6% – 'mostly yes'. Additionally, 5.1% of respondents answered that they 'don’t know/can’t say'.
Interestingly, the responses were consistent among voters of all political parties. According to the survey results, 80% of voters from the ruling coalition reject sending Polish soldiers to Ukraine. Conversely, 14% of respondents are of the opposite opinion, and 6% say they don’t know or can’t say.
Among voters of opposition parties ('Law and Justice' and 'Confederation'), 95% are against the deployment of troops. In this group, 60% responded 'definitely no', and 30% – 'mostly no'. Only 3% hold the opposite opinion.
The survey was conducted from February 21 to 24, 2025, on a representative sample of 1,000 people using the CATI&CAWI method.
According to information previously disclosed, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and other European countries are ready to send their military units to Ukraine to ensure a ceasefire. However, European countries hope for support from the USA after reaching a truce agreement.
Ukraine is also negotiating the sending of peacekeepers with France, the United Kingdom, Poland, and the Baltic states.
