Social payments instead of pension: how Ukrainians can receive financial assistance.

The Ukrainian government has announced the introduction of new social assistance for citizens who do not have enough insurance experience to receive an old-age pension. Now Ukrainians who are 65 years old or older can receive state support provided they meet the income criteria.
It is worth noting that the amount of social assistance has relatively increased compared to last year. In 2023, the payments amounted to 2093 hryvnias, and now the amount has grown by 12.8% to 2361 hryvnias per month.
To receive social assistance, it is necessary to apply to the Center for Administrative Services and have with you a passport, work record book, and certificates of registration in the state register of taxpayers, as well as proof of insurance experience from the Pension Fund.
Special conditions are established for those living with family members - information about the income of all family members for the last six months must be provided. There are also additional requirements for incapacitated persons, where documentary confirmation of the appointment of a guardian is mandatory.
Detailed consultations on obtaining social assistance are provided at the Centers for Administrative Services at the place of residence. Government agencies are urging citizens who meet the criteria to take advantage of this opportunity for social support.
We also remind you: reform of the social protection system is underway in Ukraine - key innovations.
