A soldier from the elite division of the North Korean army revealed in his diary why he decided to fight for Russia.

Ukrainian special operations forces published the continuation of the notes of a North Korean soldier who was killed in the Kursk region. In them, he reveals why he ended up in the war against Ukraine. This is stated in the translation of his notes, which were published on social networks by the special operations forces.
According to the notes, North Korea sent its best soldiers to Russia. The killed soldier, Gyeong Hong Jong, belonged to elite military special forces. He admits that he betrayed the party and Kim Jong Un, which is why he decided to 'regain the party's trust' by fighting against Ukraine.
Gyeong Hong Jong writes in his diary that he was promoted to sergeant major and he dons military uniform to protect Kim Jong Un, the Supreme Commander of North Korea.
The sins I have committed are unforgivable, but my homeland has given me a path to rebirth, to a new start in life. I will show the entire world the invincible bravery and sacrifice of Kim Jong Un's Red Special Forces,' he writes.
When we win the war and return home, I will submit a petition to the party,' promises Jong.
Previously, Gyeong Hong Jong described the tactics of shooting down UAVs and hiding from Ukrainian artillery.
It is worth reminding that earlier the operators of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces found a notebook from one of the fallen North Korean soldiers where the author congratulates another soldier on his birthday.
I, having left my homeland, while on the territory of Russia, congratulate my best friend and army brother on his birthday and wish him health, December 9, 2024,' it is noted in the note.
