Supermarkets raised prices on oranges, bananas, and lemons: how much you'll have to pay.

The cost of citrus fruits in Ukraine rose at the end of April 2025. According to data from the Minfin portal, prices have increased significantly compared to March. Lemons have gone up by 55.3%, rising from 98.09 UAH per kilogram to 152.35 UAH. Currently, in the Novus chain stores, lemons cost 149 UAH per kilogram, while in Megamarket they are priced at 155.70 UAH per kilogram.
The prices of oranges have slightly decreased, from 64.14 UAH per kilogram to 59.90 UAH per kilogram, but premium varieties have become more expensive - from 81.13 UAH per kilogram to 86.80 UAH per kilogram. In Novus stores, the priciest premium oranges cost 89.99 UAH per kilogram.
The price of bananas has also increased, from 74.03 UAH per kilogram in March to 77.20 UAH per kilogram in April. The highest price is recorded in Megamarket - 79.90 UAH per kilogram, while the lowest is in Metro - 74.90 UAH per kilogram.
This rise in citrus fruit prices can be explained by their popularity among Ukrainians, who use them to prepare refreshing drinks and seasonal dishes. However, the increase in prices may affect demand and force consumers to seek alternatives.
