Usyk - Fury Rematch: Unusual Financial Terms
On December 21, 2024, the long-awaited rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury took place. The meeting of these giants of the heavyweight division was part of the Riyadh Season festival.
The first encounter of the boxers, which took place earlier, attracted the attention of boxing fans from around the world and had a prize fund of 150 million dollars. According to some estimates, this fight became the biggest sporting event of 2024.
According to The Sportster, the financial terms of the rematch were unprecedented: both boxers shared a record amount of 190 million dollars. Oleksandr Usyk, as the current undisputed champion, received a larger share of the prize fund - 114 million dollars. In turn, Tyson Fury received 76 million dollars.
It is worth noting that for the first fight in 2022, Fury earned 105 million dollars, while Usyk earned 45 million dollars.
