Canadian company Mitrex has begun production of SolarRai solar photovoltaic fences. This is reported by the pv magazine portal.
The SolarRai fences are offered in two variants: opaque and 60% transparent. The opaque model has a power output of 390 W and consists of 72 elements arranged with a gap of 2 mm. The semi-transparent model has a power output of 105 W and consists of 20 bifacial monocrystalline solar cells with a gap of 50 mm.
Both models of SolarRai fences have dimensions of 1219x996 mm and weigh 38 kg. The thickness is 51 mm. The claimed efficiency of solar energy conversion is between 22.0% and 22.5%.
The opaque version of SolarRail can be customized with various colors and finishes, such as wood patterns or designs that imitate natural granite, plaster, or brick.
These fences are suitable for installation on balconies and roofs. The maximum system voltage is 1000 V, and the warranty on the product material lasts for 25 years. The company also claims that the fences will operate at 80% of the original performance over 25 years.
Reminder: energy news
Energy company Windlift (USA) has developed a 3.7-meter air kite with generators attached to the wings for electricity production.
