Ukraine showed the best result of the season in the men's relay at the Biathlon World Cup.


The Ukrainian biathlon team demonstrated the best result of the season in the men's relay at the fifth stage of the World Cup in Rupolding, Germany. The Ukrainian team consisted of Dmytro Pidruchny, Vitaliy Mandzin, Anton Dudchenko, and Taras Lesyuk, finishing sixth.
Dmytro Pidruchny used an extra cartridge at the shooting ranges, but thanks to his high speed on the course, he passed the baton to Vitaliy Mandzin in fourth place, lagging 7.7 seconds behind the leader.
Mandzin initially moved the team to third place, and later to second, trailing only behind France. In second place, the biathlete passed the baton to Anton Dudchenko.
Dudchenko held the second position after the first shooting, but before the second, he let three competitors pass. At the baton exchange, he was in fourth place.
Taras Lesyuk remained in fifth position. On the last lap, he lost to a Slovenian biathlete.
The French won the relay, the Swedes came second, and the Germans were third.
On Saturday, January 17, there will be a women's relay. On Sunday, the program will conclude with mass start races.

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian biathlon team participated in the Winter Universiade-2025. The competition opened with the men's individual race in Turin, Italy.
Ukrainian biathlete Dmytro Pidruchny took fourth place in the sprint at the World Cup stage 2024/25 in Oberhof, Germany.
