Pensioners in Ukraine will have the opportunity to receive an additional 2300 hryvnias, announced Tetiana Koval, head of the Pension Provision Department of Cherkasy region.
The new pension supplement of 2361 hryvnias will be provided to non-working pensioners who suffered from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster and lived in the zones of mandatory or voluntary resettlement from 1986 to 1993. Payments will be made only during the period of martial law and are enshrined in the State Budget of Ukraine for 2025.
Olena Gorshevikova, head of the department for privileged categories of the regional department of social protection of the population, explained that only those who permanently resided in the resettlement zones and did not change their place of residence from April 26, 1986, to January 1, 1993, have the right to the supplement.
The third zone, which includes four populated areas of Cherkasy region, will be able to receive the supplement. The region is home to 77 thousand individuals with the status of citizens affected by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster. The right to receive the supplement will be verified by the state demographic register authorities.
