Ukrainian sumo wrestlers impress with their results at the European Championship
The Ukrainian teams in all age groups – among youth under 21, under 23, and among adults – took first place at the European Sumo Championship. Our athletes won 77 medals: 32 gold, 18 silver, and 27 bronze.
On the last day of the adult competitions, the Ukrainian team won 26 awards, including 12 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze. Among the winners were Ivanna Berezovska, Oleksandr Veresiuk, Karina Kolesnik, Vazha Daiauri, Tetiana Karachenkо, Sofiia Kushnir, Semen Makarov, Alevtina Liashenko, and others.
It is also worth noting that Ukrainian athletes do not stop at their achievements. At the European Diving Championship, our team took first place and also won in synchronized diving on the 3-meter springboard and in synchronized diving from the 10-meter platform.
