Ukrainian refugees will see cuts to their payments: UN announces reduction of programs.

The UN Refugee Agency has reported that due to the cessation of American aid and a reduction in funding from donors, it has had to cut support for displaced persons in Ukraine. This has resulted from the intensification of hostilities on the front line. Humanitarian organizations around the world are also facing challenges due to U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to halt foreign aid. Currently, some programs have been suspended, including psychosocial support and materials for emergency housing. The most significant impact is from the suspension of American assistance, which previously accounted for 40% of the funding. Other Western donors have also reduced their support. The agency urges donors to continue funding its activities.
Since January, UNHCR transit centers in Pavlohrad and Sumy have processed nearly 9,000 people fleeing shelling. The agency provides them with clothing, hygiene kits, and support. The agency also emphasizes that these individuals arrived in a deeply traumatized state and without a significant amount of belongings. According to the agency, more than 200,000 people have already been evacuated or displaced from the frontline areas.
