The War in Russia Increases the Risk of US Involvement in Conflict with a Nuclear Country - CIA Director Nominee.


Former US Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe stated during a Senate hearing that the continuation of the Russian-Ukrainian war is causing destruction and increasing the risk of conflict with a nuclear state. He pledged to work tirelessly to protect the American people and US interests. He also called this the most challenging environment for national security in the country's history.
In addition to the Russian-Ukrainian war, Ratcliffe highlighted several threats: China's pursuit of global domination, transnational criminal organizations that are flooding American communities with violence and drugs, the Iranian regime and its terrorist forces, the situation in the Middle East, and North Korea's intentions. He also noted that emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing are critical to national security and geopolitical power.
