Military personnel can return from SZhCh by the end of summer - details.

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Kateryna Chernogorenko spoke about the simplified mechanism for returning to military service for those who have deserted but decided to return to the Armed Forces. Now the return process is even simpler, and all you need to do is apply through the 'Army+' app.

Who among the servicemen is entitled to simplified return from SZhCh to the military

Servicemen who applied for SZhCh before May 10, 2025, can return to combat units under a simplified procedure until August 30, 2025, inclusive. This can be done online via the 'Army+' platform. The application process is maximally simplified and does not require a special commander ID.

'Since the launch, about four thousand reports have been submitted, around 60%. These are successfully processed reports, and servicemen have successfully returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Importantly, after submitting the report, you must arrive at the Military Law Enforcement Service within 24 hours. Otherwise, the report will be canceled, and you'll have to submit the report again. And within 72 hours, the military will have their payments and social guarantees renewed. Essentially, the serviceman is reintegrated into the Defense Forces as provided by law,'

After returning, a serviceman can choose a different unit for service. For this, they need a recommendation letter from the new commander - the so-called reference. With it, they can transfer to the selected unit after reinstatement.
