Soldiers are returning from captivity in a severe condition
The commander of the patronage service 'Angels' of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, Olena Tolkachova, stated that the condition of Ukrainian soldiers returning from captivity is very poor. She noted that prolonged captivity severely affects their health.
'The state of health can essentially be described as terrible; the prolonged detention of our guys in captivity really does not improve their health, and unfortunately, there are cases when guys and girls, not waiting for an exchange, die in captivity due to conditions, prolonged torture, chronic illnesses, untreated injuries.'
According to Tolkachova, after their release, soldiers undergo a full medical examination and are directed to specialized facilities depending on the identified diseases. She also emphasized that Ukraine will do everything possible to return its people from captivity, but Russia complicates and blocks this process.
