Drivers will face increased fines for illegal parking: how much will they have to pay.

Ukraine plans to raise fines for parking in spaces reserved for people with disabilities. This was announced by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the organization of state power, local self-government, regional development, and urban planning Olena Shuliak.
She noted that the fine amount should be close to those in the countries of the European Union. Currently, the fine is up to 2000 hryvnias, which is too little and may increase several times.
'As we are integrating there exclusively according to infrastructure standards. In particular, in Germany, the fine for parking in spaces for people with disabilities is up to 370 euros. This is fair,' Shuliak noted.
She also spoke about the lack of parking spaces in large cities, especially in the capital, and emphasized the aggravation of the situation with parking in unauthorized places, particularly in spaces for people with disabilities.
To address this situation, new construction standards foresee an increase in the number of parking spaces when constructing residential properties. However, some developers, by lowering their costs, do not comply with these standards, leading to a shortage of parking spaces.
Shuliak also noted that asking people not to violate the legislation is often ineffective, and therefore action is necessary. She mentioned that efforts are already being made to evacuate improperly parked vehicles, encouraging people to be more careful about parking in spaces for people with disabilities.
Recall that drivers and pedestrians were reminded of the importance of safety during the winter period.
