The enemy is being destroyed operationally: The General Staff commented on the rumors about the Russian advance in Sumy region.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine fully control the situation at the border of Sumy region with the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, reported the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 18, 2025.
The military command denies the information circulating on social media about the advance of Russian military units deep into the territory of Sumy region, emphasizing that such statements are not true.
According to the General Staff, Russian occupiers are trying to enter some populated areas of the Ukrainian border region in small groups, but the enemy is 'operationally being destroyed by fire means due to coordinated actions and a pre-established defense system.'
'Our defenders successfully stop all attempts of the invaders to establish themselves in the territory of Sumy region. The enemy suffers significant losses in personnel',
The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking all necessary measures to strengthen the Ukrainian group of troops with technical means and reserves. At the same Time, Ukrainian units continue to hold the captured territories in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces specifically emphasizes that the Russian side continues to exert informational and psychological pressure by spreading propaganda narratives aimed at discrediting the military command of Ukraine and spreading panic in society.
The military leadership calls on the public to trust only official sources and verify information, stressing that the communications units and official spokespersons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine inform the public daily about events of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the current situation in combat areas.
