WP: Ukrainian officials ready for potential return of Trump.

Senior officials in Kyiv are considering the advantages of a potential victory by Donald Trump in the U.S. presidential elections, despite his criticism regarding support for Ukraine. This is reported by the Washington Post citing Ukrainian officials.
According to the publication, Kyiv officially declares readiness to cooperate with any American president. However, some members of President Zelensky's team see a positive side in Trump's potential return to the White House.
"Naturally, [Zelensky's administration] is more aligned with Trump," said a former Ukrainian official who worked in the government during Trump's presidency.
According to him, Zelensky saw a similarity between himself and Trump and believes that this will help build good relations between the countries. Ukrainian officials believe that Trump’s victory would not be a disaster for Kyiv. They hope to influence Trump through personal relationships. They also emphasize that it was during his presidency that the U.S. began supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine.
However, Ukrainian officials express concern that Trump may pressure Ukraine regarding territorial concessions to Russia during negotiations. Zelensky's administration is categorically against such pressure. Some officials are also dissatisfied with the caution and slowness of the U.S. administration in decisions regarding avoiding escalation with Russia.
