Ukraine's invitation to NATO could end Russia's imperial ambitions - MEP.

Member of the European Parliament Andrius Kubilius stated that inviting Ukraine to NATO could end Russia's ambitions and prove that the democratic world wins over autocracy. He suggested that Western countries send Ukraine such an invitation to join the Alliance. According to him, this would be a powerful signal to Russia that it should forget about Ukraine.
The MEP emphasized that if Russia loses control over Ukraine, it will have a chance to become a democratic country. However, if Russia can control Ukraine, it will remain an empire. Therefore, inviting Ukraine to NATO could have a significant impact on the development of the situation in Russia.
According to Kubilius, in the future, Ukraine, becoming a member of the EU and NATO, will bring military capabilities that Europe lacks for ensuring its own security.
The MEP also noted that the future architecture of European security depends on internal developments in Russia. He believes that if Russia remains an autocratic and aggressive country, NATO must strengthen its defense capabilities. The West needs to develop a strategy that helps Russia undergo transformation, and this should be done together with Ukrainians.
Kubilius expressed hope that Ukraine, becoming a successful country, will inspire the citizens of Russia to change. If Russia can become a normal country, then the security architecture in Europe will be different.
