During a press conference in Odesa, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the country is actively enhancing the level of protection for energy infrastructure and developing its own technologies to counter Russian attacks.'There are several levels of protection. Ukraine defends, builds. And spends a lot of money on it. First and foremost, protection is air defense. As soon as the 'Russians' understand where our air defense system is located, they attack it. Therefore, we constantly change the routes of our air defense systems. Just as the 'Russians' constantly change the routes of their strike drones and their numbers,' Zelensky noted.Emphasizing the growth of Russia's aggression, the president reported an increase in the number of unmanned aerial vehicles to nearly 500 per day and intensified shelling of critical facilities, such as distribution stations and gas infrastructures. In response to this escalation, Ukraine is ramping up production of specialized weapons, including various types of interceptor drones. There is also a strategy for the decentralization of the energy system to ensure resilience against potential enemy attacks. Zelensky also warned about possible Russian plans to capture Odesa and reach the border with Moldova and Romania.
