Business built 200 MW of green generation in half a year.

Private companies built about 200 MW of renewable energy capacity in the first half of the year. This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association, Stanislav Ignatiev.
«In half a year, businesses in Ukraine have built about 200 megawatts of solar stations – that's one fifth of the capacity of a nuclear power plant unit. And these are precisely the stations intended to meet their own needs», – said Ignatiev.
According to Ignatiev, such generating capacities were built mainly for hotels, retail, large shopping centers, office and warehouse premises, and other facilities.
«So, the trends are positive. And the martial law and constant attacks on our energy supply have become a stimulus for creating such projects, primarily for business», – the expert explained.
In addition, Ignatiev noted that green energy projects are also being implemented in the social sphere with the help of local authorities.
Recall that the debt of SE «Guaranteed Buyer» to investors in the renewable energy sector amounts to about 16 billion UAH and is related to underpayments from the company «Energoatom». In addition, «Ukrenergo» owes investors in the renewable energy sector approximately 28.9 billion UAH due to insufficient electricity transmission costs and the inability to fully compensate for the service cost with the increase in the share of electricity from renewable sources.
According to experts, Ukraine has an excess of liquidity in banks, which can be used to solve the issue of multibillion-dollar debts of the company «Energoatom» in the electricity market. This solution to the debt crisis in the energy market will promote the development of green generation.
