The EU will expedite the return of migrants to seven countries: list.

The European Commission has published a list of countries that, in Brussels' opinion, are safe for returning migrants. Among them are Kosovo, Bangladesh, India, Colombia, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia. The introduction of such a list is a step towards fulfilling the new 'Pact on Migration and Asylum', which will come into effect next summer.
If the document is approved in the European Parliament and the European Council, EU members will be able to process asylum applications from migrants from recognized safe countries faster. At the same Time, the chances of remaining in the EU will be much lower. The new seven states have supplemented the list of safe countries, which already includes all candidates for EU membership.
In Brussels, it is believed that a single list of safe countries will help manage migration in an orderly manner, ensure a fair distribution of the migration burden, and create uniform verification procedures. At the same time, some human rights activists are concerned about human rights violations in Tunisia, Turkey, and Egypt.
It has been proposed to amend the rules for the final instance of asylum denial to avoid the immediate deportation of asylum seekers without special permission. The European Commission is also urging to limit the processing time for applications from individuals from safe countries to three months.
In the context of these changes, Germany has suspended the acceptance of refugees through the UN resettlement program, as the new government plans to limit immigration to ensure stability and security in the country.
