The Head of the UGCC congratulates Ukrainians on Christmas
The Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk expressed his congratulations to Ukrainians on the occasion of Christmas. He emphasized that this holiday makes God visible among us through the birth of the Son. Christmas reveals God's love and light that overcome the darkness of the world.
«Let us welcome and embrace this incarnate love of God in our hearts! Let us warm ourselves with its warmth, let us be filled with its light!»
His Beatitude Sviatoslav also congratulated Ukrainian soldiers who celebrate Christmas in the context of war, far from their homes. He wished them healing, strength, and resilience, noting that today the Savior was born.
«Today the Lord Himself comes to you to become your kin, the one who wants to envelop you with the warmth of heavenly love today,» said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
The Patriarch also mentioned those who have suffered due to the war and wished them God's blessing and peace.
Volodymyr Zelensky also congratulated Ukrainians on Christmas.
