Commander of the Ground Forces Mykhailo Drapatii submitted a resignation report.


The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Army General Mykhailo Drapatii, has decided to resign after the tragedy at the training ground where servicemen were killed. He acknowledged his responsibility for the terrible event, stating that he failed to ensure the execution of his orders. 'As a commander, I was not able to fully ensure the execution of my orders. This is my responsibility,' he stated.
'We have no right to live in a system that does not learn. Without personal responsibility, there is no development. Without development, there is no victory,' he emphasized.
The General also acknowledged that he failed to control impunity among the military and called for the recognition of mistakes for further development of the army. He announced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident, assistance to the victims, and the establishment of an army where commanders are accountable for their orders and for each soldier.
Parliamentarian Hennadiy Kasai reported on the holding of a meeting of the Defense Committee with the participation of Mykhailo Drapatii to study the causes of the tragedy at the Novomoskovsk training ground in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
