Preparation of Easter cakes: how prices for flour, sugar, eggs, and butter have changed before Easter.


The Ministry of Finance portal has reported on changes in prices for ingredients for baking Easter cakes. Many Ukrainians are preparing for Easter and plan to cook festive dishes themselves. The main ingredients for Easter baking are flour, sugar, eggs, and butter. Let’s consider how prices for these products have changed compared to March 2025 to help consumers plan their holiday expenses.
The analysis of current prices shows a contradictory picture: some products have become cheaper, while others have slightly increased in price. Flour 'Khutorek wheat' in a 1 kg package currently costs an average of 31.39 UAH, which is 2.5% higher than the March price (30.61 UAH). Meanwhile, the 2 kg package of the same brand has decreased from 59.50 UAH to 55.04 UAH, which is a decrease of 7.5%.
Granulated sugar has become cheaper. The current average price is 33.32 UAH per kilogram, which is 4% lower than the March price of 34.70 UAH.
As for butter, the situation is ambiguous depending on the manufacturer. 'Selyanske' butter 72.5% (200 g) has increased in price by 1.9% – from 115.04 UAH to 117.25 UAH. In contrast, 'Yagotynske' butter 73% (200 g) has decreased by 1 UAH – from 104.95 UAH to 103.95 UAH.
Milk has significantly decreased in price. 'Prostokvashino' 1% (900 ml) has dropped in price by 7.6% - from 52.10 UAH to 48.12 UAH, while 'Yagotynske' 2.6% (900 ml) has decreased by 10% - from 55.86 UAH to 50.28 UAH.
Eggs 'Kvochka' (10 pcs) have decreased by 2.5% - from 74.68 UAH to 72.80 UAH. Eggs 'Yasensvit' (C1, 10 pcs) have increased by 3.9% - from 70.78 UAH to 73.53 UAH.
