Russians spend the night at airports: another aviation collapse in Moscow due to drone attack.

Collapse at Moscow airports due to drone attack
A collapse occurred at Moscow airports due to a drone attack. According to 'Glavkom', this is reported by Russian Telegram channels.
Hundreds of passengers are stranded at 'Vnukovo', 'Sheremetyevo', and 'Domodedovo' airports. Planes cannot take off due to the drone attack. Flights for arrivals are also delayed. Russians complain that there are many passengers in the waiting area, and some were supposed to fly out last night, but flights have been postponed several times.
For example, 180 passengers on flight WZ015 of RedWings were supposed to depart for Tel Aviv yesterday at 17:20. However, the flight was postponed several times, and then the airport was completely changed. Now people are waiting to depart from 'Vnukovo'. Passengers were also herded onto the plane, where they were kept until morning, and no hotels were provided.
In 'Domodedovo', about 160 people are waiting for flight G9 831 to the UAE of AIR Arabia for more than 10 hours. It was supposed to depart yesterday at 23:40. According to passengers, representatives of the company have not yet been in contact. Hotels were also not provided.
In the last day, 81 flights were delayed at 'Sheremetyevo', 30 redirected to other airports, and seven canceled. At Domodedovo, 70 flights were delayed, 36 redirected, and 10 canceled.
As a reminder, from January to May 2025, Russian airports ceased operations at least 217 times due to drone threats. This is reported by 'Glavkom', citing 'Novaya Gazeta Europe'.
The number of cases applying the 'Carpet' plan (the airport does not accept or send planes) in the less than five months of 2025 exceeds similar cases for the entire 2023 (58) and 2024 (91) years combined. Overall, from February 2023 to May 2025, the media counted at least 366 cases of airport closures in the Russian Federation due to the threat of drones.
As it is known, drone attacks have repeatedly caused flight delays at Russian airports. For example, at Domodedovo, some people could not fly for more than 33 hours: children slept at airports, and parents complained about the lack of information.
Analysis
From the material mentioned above, it can be seen that drone attacks have become a serious problem for Russian airports, leading to significant delays and inconveniences for passengers. This is also confirmed by statistics regarding the increase in the number of cases of airport closures due to such threats in recent years. The presence of such problems requires immediate measures to ensure passenger safety and prevent similar incidents in the future.
