Britain to Increase Production of Explosives and 155mm Shells - Media.

The United Kingdom plans to increase the production of explosives at its factories
The United Kingdom plans to significantly increase the production of explosives to reduce dependence on the USA and France for ammunition. BAE Systems plans to build factories across the country for the production of RDX explosives. It is a high-power brisant explosive used in munitions. The British company also aims to establish three new manufacturing sites in order to be more resilient in case of an attack. Currently, RDX explosives are imported from the USA and France.
Additionally, BAE is expanding the production of 155mm artillery shells, which are used by NATO. The company is the only one in the UK that manufactures these shells, which were used in Ukraine in the war against Russia. Britain hopes to soon be able to produce a surplus of RDX explosives and sell them to other countries without violating US international arms trade regulations.
BAE Systems states that the main task is to scale up production to effectively counter Russia and other hostile countries.
